About Acronis

Acronis is a leader in the backup, recovery and security area. Originally they focused on disk partitioning and boot loader software. Their easy-to-use software is suitable for consumers as well as businesses and allows users to protect their digital information, maintain business continuity as well as reducing their downtime. They offer solutions for physical, virtual as well as cloud environments.

Acronis is a privately owned company and was founded in 2001 by Serguei Beloussov and Jack Zubarev. Beloussov is a self-made entrepreneur and was the company's first president, playing a major role in their initial growth. He has been a Director since 2002. Acronis's current CEO is Jason Donahue. He has been with the company since 2008 with previous senior positions at ClearApp and IBM amongst others.

The company has offices in the United States, Europe and Asia and sells its products through retail outlets, resellers and the Web, reaching more than 90 countries. Their customer base consists of more than 175 000 businesses, across a wide range of industries, and over 2.5 million consumer users. Acronis' products are available in 14 languages.

The Products

Acronis use disk imaging technology in their backup and disaster recovery. Until 2009 Acronis True Image was their flagship product for backup and restore in the home and home office. Acronis Backup & Recovery then replaced it in the corporate environment. The latter provides disaster recovery and data protection across physical, virtual and cloud environments.

Acronis also offers Acronis Online Backup,for Windows Servers, and Acronis Recovery for MS SQL Server,amongst others.
